At The Exeter Clinic we offer Verruca removal with advanced techniques to ensure safe and effective treatment. Verrucae are warty growths, which occur on the soles or toes of your feet. These can be contracted in communal areas, such as swimming baths and changing rooms as they are contagious. To reduce the risk of catching them, precautions should be taken not to walk around barefoot. If you already have a verruca, avoid going barefoot to reduce the risk of infecting other people and get verruca treatment to get rid of it.

Frequently asked questions by patients considering treatment using Swift™ microwave therapy for verrucae.
Swift™ is a new technology, developed in the UK, which has been licenced for the general treatment of skin lesions in Podiatry and Dermatology. Swift™ uses microwave energy which is delivered through a special probe applied to the skin to treat the affected tissue.
Treatment of verrucae with Swift™ is quick, has a high success rate and removes the need for you to do anything further at home.
Like many treatments for skin lesions, some minor discomfort may be experienced. pain levels vary from person to person, but most people undergoing Swift™ liken it to a pain similar to an injection or scratch, lasting 2 – 3 seconds then quickly subsiding.
In some cases the treated area may feel sore but will not prevent you undertaking normal daily activities.
With a few exceptions, most people with skin lesions would be able to have this treatment. Your Podiatrist will carry out an assessment prior to treatment and be able to advise you on this.
Bupa will now cover treatment for Swift™, if you have any questions please get in touch with the clinic.
The K-Laser™ operates by emitting concentrated beams of light that destroys tissue containing the verruca (HPV) virus.
During your appointment, the healthcare provider will assess your condition and create an individualised treatment plan. You may require multiple sessions to achieve optimal results.
This is dependent on how you respond to treatment. In some cases, you may need more than one treatment (these can be from 14 days to over a month apart depending on the response). Your Podiatrist will be able to discuss this with you.
Consult with a podiatrist at The Exeter Clinic to determine if K-Laser™ is right for you and how it can help you get rid of your verrucae. Call to arrange a consultation on (01392) 217333 or book online.
